On the eve of a dangerous Bush veto of a new course in Iraq, the desperate Republicans sent out the attacker in chief Dick Cheney to assail yet another Dem leader.Kerry blatantly misrepresented the Harry Reid quote on which Cheney was commenting. In fact, what Reid said, and what Cheney responded to, was: "This war is lost. The surge is not accomplishing anything..." You can see Reid saying exactly what Cheney said he did, in this YouTube video.
Why? Because the Majority Leader Harry Reid said that "as long as we follow the president's path in Iraq, the war is lost. But there is still a chance to change course -- and we must change course."
Any questions? The president's own generals say there is no military solution to the civil war in Iraq, that it requires the political solution the Iraqis have resisted. But that didn't stop the GOP from trying to spin conscience into controversy.
The quote Kerry used was a later one, when Reid was backtracking after he realized he had blundered, not the one that Cheney referred to. Why did Kerry lie? No doubt, because the truth was too embarrassing for Harry Reid, John Kerry and the Democratic Party.
Here's another one, from today's Best of the Web. Howard Dean, like Kerry, sent out an email to the Democrat faithful. This one attacked a statement supposedly made by Rudy Giuliani:
Rudy Giuliani should be ashamed. The former New York City Mayor is politicizing September 11th in his 2008 presidential bid. Here's what he said at a recent campaign stop in New Hampshire: "If a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001... Never ever again will this country ever be on defense waiting for (terrorists) to attack us if I have anything to say about it. And make no mistake, the Democrats want to put us back on defense!"What's wrong with Dean's rant? It's a lie. The key portion of the quote he attributes to Giuliani, which is bolded above, Giuliani didn't say. Dean just made it up.
I won't let this wannabe Republican nominee get away with remarks like these.
Why do the Democrats base their attacks on Republicans on lies? I suppose because the truth just doesn't work for them.
UPDATE: "Second Edition" tries to defend Harry Reid and John Kerry. Like many liberals, however, he doesn't seem to read too well. He quotes the speech by Reid that I referred to as "backtracking after he realized he had blundered." Then he goes so far as to suggest that the video I linked to was "tampered with." This illustrates pretty well how far around the bend many of the Democratic faithful have gone. The video wasn't tampered with, it shows Harry Reid giving a press conference. This was his original statement that the Iraq war "is lost," the one that Vice-President Cheney responded to. Demagogues like John Kerry and Howard Dean prey on the ignorance of people like "Second Edition."

2. This war IS lost, how can you doubt it.
Do you see Iraquis and Islamist rebel quitting?
Do you see less bombings, less US soldiers killed?
Do you see more law and order, more oil produced, more countries agreeing with our position?
I was for the war, not for the obvious fake reasons but for US geopolitical strength, it has been so mismanaged that I cannot imagine a way out.

11. The Democrat Party leaders have experienced the loss of control for a short time (which the Republicans could not take full advantage of due to the lack of discipline and lost commitment to conservative principles) and they never want to lose that power again.
Their confidence was built on the years of liberal theology being spread throughout the land, and when they were voted out of power they developed a desperation that they have tried to redefine as passion.
All of their years of work will be wasted if they are not able to wrest control of the government, and they will do whatever it takes to get the job done. We have not had a conservative voice to challenge the Dems and to know when it's time to roll up one's sleeves and fight.
They do believe in lying first and asking forgiveness later (only if their caught of course). If they are reasonable and honest they know in the depth of their souls that no one is buying the religion their placing on the shelves, so like any good salesman that can sell sand to the Arabs and snow to the Eskimos, the liberals do believe that the public is stupid because they are the ones who were in charge of the schools!
By nature of the crap they're selling, they want to bully, suppress and eliminate the voice of truth and opposition. If they tell the same lie long enough they know the people will believe it. They say that their must be a small grain of truth to it, or it wouldn't be said.
They have this lying stuff down to a science, and they have the people down like Pavlov's dogs! Further more, it is quite disappointing that so many conservatives don't believe that we have principles worth fighting for and lies that should be exposed. Taking the high road is allowing a group of Saul David Alinsky disciples to spread his doctrine of lying, cheating, deceiving, muck raking, or whatever needed to be done to achieve the agenda. Although he didn't believe in the Christian religion, he still infiltrated churches and deceived them into helping his agenda. Hillary praised him in her 1969 college thesis.
Republicans should study the man and his quotes to see how much he despised the liberties and benefits that we have in America and how he wanted socialism so bad that he would do anything to achieve his end. And so it is with the Agenda Council of today; a big group of liars.

Why is it that liberals will not say that they did lie about an issue or that they didn't lie about an issue? Liberals run on a campaign of HE HIT ME TOO or HE HIT ME FIRST!
Liberals know that conservatives have witnessed how tenaciously unreasonable liberals are and that they are skillful in twisting words and making "Good morning" appear like perjury. When a conservative or a Republican does lie or make any mistake, they are well aware that they are not going to be treated with the same carefulness and understanding and permissiveness that liberals show to other liberals. I would plead the fifth if they asked me my name!
Liberals have demonstated a level of bigotry and hatred toward conservatives to such a point that many of us don't trust you (and I believe that is the wiser position). The pugnacious and arrogant way that liberals treat conservatives and the approach that you use toward us would be unacceptable if we did the same thing to you. And liberals are establishing in this country the same type of divisions that exist in Iraq through lies, voluble statements, and abusive and insulting language that is meant to stir up trouble and to be divisive. Hey, if it doesn't bother your party that the gentleman from Louisiana keeps his spare $90,000 in his freezer, then why should it bother me. I think it's called selective outrage and selective prosecution.
Somehow, the laws say what they mean and mean what they say and are meant to be enforced when a conservative or Republican is involved, but the words change on the pages to mean something entirely different in the minds of liberals when they are dealing with their own.
This is one kettle that refuses to accept the calls of blackness by you. Your care and concern is the kind that can destroy a nation; you'll hold the coats and stand guard for the people that burn my house down and say that your hands are clean.
Harry/Kerry have a method of operation and a history of redefining their actions by rewriting the dictionary so that their words meant something other than what they said. They were writting the President urging and demanding for him to act against Sadam, and none of them have any memory of their previous position and want the American public to believe that the President lied to us.
