Black bloggers and ColorofChange.org are asking the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Institute to officially freeze out Fox News Channel (FNC) from their upcoming presidential debates. They say FNC routinely discriminates against people of color and the network should not be legitimized as a real news outlet.
"No network that calls Black churches a cult, implies that Senator Barack Obama is a terrorist, and uses the solemn occasion of Coretta Scott King's funeral to call Black leaders 'racist' should be given a stamp of approval by the CBC Institute," said James Rucker, head of ColorofChange.org.
The video above is a compilation of Fox clips put together by Robert Greenwald at Brave New Films. It's called "Fox Attacks: Black America." You can find out more at www.FoxAttacks.com.

2. So if these groups are offended whomever they are offended at should automatically be discounted because their opinion is gospel? Are they gods? Forget them, I agree with FOX.

3. The far lefts attack on Fox News makes them look desperate. There are guests on CNN that have opinions I don't agree with too, but that doesn't make CNN responsible for that person.

4. where is the NAACP, this is something they should be unpsit about.

5. IF THE BLACKS DON'T WANT TO WATCH FOX, LET THEM TURN ON THE FAR LEFT CHANNEL CNN. I LIKE FOX, AND ONLY WATCH FOX NEWS. I JUST WISH AOL HAD FOX ON THEIR WEB SITE INSTEAD OF CNN, AND THE OTHER NEWORKS THAT I DON'T LIKE AT ALL.

6. I don't believe a news channel should be blocked because it is doing its job. We finally have a news channel worth watching that gives both points of view and is critical when necessary. Criticism is also freedom of speech.

7. I agree with my fellow Black bloggers and the folks at Color of Change. The way that the Fox "News" Channel attacks liberal ideology is one thing; they way that the attack non-white people is an even more disgusting animal.
While I do have questions for Obama regarding political stances, I find it disturbing that of all of the attacks in the video, there was not a single one talking about his views on issues.
So I ask, who is desperate? They must be pretty afraid...

9. Fox News is not an unbiased organization, Murdock admits that he attempts to 'set the agenda' recently at Davos. Republicans always preach that there should be reprocussions to your position, well does that also include them?
They chose to become the propaganda arm of the republican party and the credibility challenged administration. When you particicpate marginalizing your opponents with hate speech in a democracy, watch out that the minority doesn't become an influential member of the majority of voters.

10. I do not consider myself a Racist , but why is there always someone from the NAACP or Black Caucus - always attacking White's - what if we start a White Caucus or a National Association of the Advancement of White People - What would be the Difference ?
Gerald at 1:34PM on Mar 14th 2007
11. I watched Fox Sunday Night and heard a member of the Nation of Islam calling white people devils and I do not see anyone screaming about boycotting the Nation of Islam. I am white and not a racist, but I am tired of the race card being played when it is convenient. From where I sit a group of whites attack a person of color and its a national news event. A group of blacks attack a white person and it ends up on page 47 of the local weekly paper. Is this just me - I don't think so.

12. Anyone and many have taken clips, compiled them and said they had a case against one thing or another. If they are afraid of debate then don't, but don't take away the freedom to do so. I'm a little tired of these peoples accusations about racism. I know many black people who are too!
faye at 1:55PM on Mar 14th 2007
13. OK, this is just plain ridiculous. This fringe group is hollering about slights and differences of opinion. They truly have no conservative point of view, but that should not equate to silencing another group. They, above all, should not go that route. That's censoring another's views. Would they like it if a bunch of white people got a group together and requested that the CBC silence NBC or ABC because of their liberal slant???
Am I missing something here?

14. Should BCB be upset by the comments and the way black America is portrayed by Fox? Sure they should. Fox's catering to the angry, white, Christian, wealthy Neo-con male stance on black America has always been apparent. It's only those who are not minorities that can't see the dangers of what they are doing, because they are not the ones being affected or attacked. Having a black man come on your show and say things against his race for profit, or political gain in hopes to spread their propaganda DOES NOT make them creditable. Cutting off someone that doesn't prove your ignorance, does prove that you are, in fact, not creditable because you are not letting that person's view be heard or reporting all parts of the story. Inflammatory reporting is never news and should never be accepted as truth. Making comments on a few that may fit the stereotypes that you assume to be true is anything but fair, balanced, news, or appropriate. And those that think otherwise, well, I guess that says a lot about your character. (Or lack there of)
I do find that people are quick to come to Fox's defense on the issues and claim this is America, while trashing what makes America great because it doesn't fall in line with Fox's agenda for the day. You can't use freedom of speech and then tell people they should shut up or be quiet because they don't share your views or the views of Fox news.
I will say this, Fox news should, as well as all other news stations, get a lesson in cause and affect, actions and consequences. Does have Fox have the right to report what it wants? Of course they do. Do they have the right to call what they put out news? Barely, but they do have that right. Do people have the right to boycott them? Yes, they do. Do people have to the right to stand up to abuse of power by the media or government? YES! Sorry to bust your bubble but here in America we do.

15. Amazing! This video is garbage. It's spliced together sound bites taken out of context for the sole purpose of inflaming emotions.
I suspect this has less to do about race and all to do about shutting up one of the few voices in the political news arena that criticizes liberal ideology (as well as conservative) when it needs to be criticized. I think people of color are much too smart to fall for this ruse.
